I took a look at your gallery - here are some things I thought might help: first, try taking more pictures that look less like snapshots. Try to find something around you (it could be something normal) and take a picture of it, but try to make it as unique as possible. It may mean doing it from a different perspective or angle or at a different time of the day But in any case, remember: good photography isn't about a good subject, it's about how the subject is presented.
Also, when using flash, try to take the pictures from a position in which the picture wouldn't look overexposed. It may mean moving back a little bit, reflecting flash off of a mirror, diffusing it with a piece of paper, or even not using it at all.
If you really want some inspiration, I suggest checking out all the awesome galleries on this site...there are quite a few good ones around here who don't necessarily have a good camera, but a good eye for what makes a terrific picture
